Saxonburg, PA, April 27, 2009 - Dennis Meteny, President and CEO of Cygnus Manufacturing Company (CMC), a manufacturer of products and components used in medical, health & safety, scientific, transportation, aerospace and energy applications, has won the Pittsburgh Business Times' Diamond Award in the Large For-Profit Category. A panel of six judges representing some of Pittsburgh's leading businesses and academic organizations honored Mr. Meteny based upon his leadership of CMC and contributions to the community. "Since taking the helm in 2006, Dennis has transformed CMC from a leading contract manufacturer to a strategic partner that our clients depend on for technical and business advice, as well as engineering, machining and fabrication," says Craig K. Harding, CMC's Chairman. "Dennis's rare combination of visionary leadership and an ability to focus on the details of our business have produced impressive results and position the company for future growth."

Earlier in his career, Mr. Meteny served as an executive in residence with the Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse and as president and board member of TissueInformatics, a privately-held life sciences company that specializes in medical imaging. He is also a former President, CEO and board member of Respironics, a developer and marketer of sleep and respiratory products.

Mr. Meteny holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh's Katz School of Business and an accounting degree from the Pennsylvania State University.

He resides with his family in Pittsburgh's North Hills.
